Adelaide, Australia (Signal High) —– An Australian police officer has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of abuse of public office following a lengthy investigation by the force’s anti-corruption section. The officer has, reportedly, been suspended with pay, been granted bail, and scheduled to appear in court later this year.
In a disappointing turn, the police force has refused to publicly identify the accused. So we are asking that anyone with credible evidence as to the identity of the accused reach out to the writer directly, sabine.fischer@signalhigh.news. In the mean time, we will publish a photo of Commissioner Grant Stevens instead. The SA Police usually have no difficulty identifying accused parties even if only a matter of public record, but it seems that concern for public safety and transparency don’t apply when dealing with a fellow cop.
