Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Signal High) —– A Canadian (Edmonton) police officer has been charged with assault following a 2024 traffic stop.
Edmonton Police Constable Mohamed Elgendy, a three-year member of the force, has been “placed in a non-operational role,” according to police. The Edmonton Police have done a good job setting a police-positive narrative. The charges stem from a roadside confrontation with a driver allegedly license expired. Police arrested the 52-year-old male driver after he allegedly became aggressive. A struggle ensured where the driver suffered minor injuries.
No additional information is available at this time; however, Signal High will get the other side of the story.
An internal investigation was conducted. The Alberta crown prosecutor laid the charge.
