Alice Springs, Australia (Signal High) —– An unidentified police officer with the Northern Territory (Australia) Police Force is facing two counts of sexual intercourse without consent (what many people refer to as “rape”) against a women who was known to him. The accused, 52, has been remanded to local court in Alice Springs. The officer has been suspended with pay (what many people refer to as “paid vacation”).
The NT Police did not respond to our requests to identify the accused, in the interest of public safety and free press. So instead we will publish a photo of Police Commissioner Michael Murphy that was issued as part of a public promise that he would restore trust and stability in the force, a promise many would say has clearly been broken.
Persons able to positively identify the accused are encouraged to reach out to the writer.
