/PG/ Circleville, Ohio (Signal High) —– Signal High News Corporation is following the case of former Circleville police officer Ryan Speakman, who on July 4th, without any justification, and against the orders of fellow police officers, caused his police dog to viciously attack truck driver Jadarrius Rose.

Police allege that Rose, a commercial truck driver, was missing a mudflap, or had a damaged mudflap, and that he drove past a commercial vehicle inspection station. Police allege a “chase” ensued and Circleville Police assisted state troopers. None of these allegations have been proven in court.

What has been clearly demonstrated (police video, statements of police officers) is that Rose stopped and surrendered without incident, hands up and compliant. It was at that point, against the vocal orders of other police officers, that Speakman gave the attack command and sent his police dog into action, biting, clawing and dragging Rose from where he had peacefully surrendered. Rose was initially charged with “failure to comply,” but has since been released.

Speakman was put on administrative leave and subsequently terminated, but the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, Speakman’s union, has filed a grievance and is demanding that his termination be rescinded, and demanding compensation. Circleville Police commanders would not identify the police attack dog or comment on the dog’s disposition at present.
