Sergeant Jon Williams (pictured above left), an 18-year veteran of the Halton Regional Police Service, has been arrested and charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 in connection to an investment scheme. In February, 2023, the Ontario Provincial Police Anti-Rackets Branch commenced an investigation resulting in the following charges:
- Douglas Grozelle, age 49, of Burlington, Ontario — Fraud over $5,000 x 2
- Jonathan Williams (a Police Officer), Age 41, of Beamsville, Ontario — Fraud over $5,000
- Crystal Masterson, age 40, of Burlington, Ontario — Fraud over $5,000
Williams has been suspended with pay, effectively enjoying a taxpayer funded vacation while he awaits trial. This writer reached out to Halton and Ontario Provincial Police, but neither bothered to reply. All of this is very typical behaviour when a police officer is charged with a crime. We will follow this story and try to get a photo of the wagons being circled.
