(Investigation fr. June 29, 2024 Report)
/PG/ Toronto, Ontario [Canada] (Signal High) for BadMedicine.Online ——- Canadian pharmacies are “losing” dangerous and addictive narcotics at a growing and alarming rate. Benzodiazepines and opioids are the most commonly “unaccounted for losses,” both highly addictive and in great demand.
Since the pandemic there have been reports of serious embezzlements of these and other dangerous narcotics.
One pharmacy “lost” 245,000 x eight milligram hydromorphone tablets, sold under the brand name Dilaudid. This represents an approximate street value of four million dollars. Health Canada would only say that the pharmacist was referred to the professional regulatory college for review. The Ontario Provincial Police and several big-city police forces were asked if the loss was reported. They all indicated in the negative or refused to answer.
“Loss Unexplained” is now more popular than theft in reports to Health Canada. Neither pharmacists, their college, nor Health Canada, are under any obligation to report these massive losses to police.
