Make a Report

Everything starts with a report.  You can make a report any time, from any place, for any reason, about anyone or anything you wish.  You can report events you have witnessed, read about, watched on television, head about from a friend, and even read about online.  You can make a report using your real name and coordinates, or you can remain completely anonymous.  We believe “where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” so the few minutes it takes for you to submit a report could lead to international headlines.

Important!  You are not required to identify your self at all.  We protect our sources [more] and uphold the long-standing press shield tradition.  We do not track you and do not keep logs [more].  Obviously, if we do not have a contact e-mail, we are unable to follow up; however, we will investigate regardless.

Instructions

Complete the form as best you can, giving as much detail as possible.  Please give us links and send images, videos, and other media to newsroom@signalhigh.news by e-mail attachment.  If you wish to remain anonymous, we suggest you create a hotmail.com or other public address and send from that.  Should you have any questions, or require assistance, contact newsroom@signalhigh.news.

Anonymous Report
All sources are anonymous. We protect all news sources, period -- it is called the press shield; however, if you wish, you don't even have to tell us who you are, or anything about you. You can make a completely anonymous report. It's your choice.
You do not have to tell us your name to make a report. You can leave this blank, or make something up.
You do not have to give us your e-mail address to make a report; however, if you want us to follow up with you, we will need a method of contact (see below). Again, you can be creative if you wish.
You do not have to give us your telephone number to make a report. We ask for your number so we can follow up with you, if you give us permission to do so.
There is no specific format for this. We would appreciate a long date and time -- for example: 'Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2:35 pm'. You can be approximate as well.
Please give a detailed description of exactly what happened. For example: "A police officer shot an unarmed kid in the head because he had a cell phone in his hand. The kid was just walking along and the cop stopped him asking for his ID. The kid turned around and the cop shot him."
Please tell us exactly where this occurred. For example: "This was at the corner of Main and Sample Street right in front of the used car lot. On the same side of the street as the movie theatre. In Niceville, Texas USA." It is important we have a city or county, state and country. Please be as specific as possible.
Again, the more information the better, for example: "I don't know the kid but the cop was Sergeant Blister, Niceville police department. Mike, the manager of the movie theatre saw it go down. There were a lot of witnesses. I got the plate of a blue SUV (ABCD123). The driver stopped and got it on her cell phone." Fire truck E14 and Ambulance M2 arrive on scene as well as police cars 14, 32 and an unmarked car with an officer in a white shirt. One of the officers was really tall. He was yelling at people to go home and get lost."
Here we want to know about how you got this information, for example: "I saw it on channel 6 news," or "I was there, I saw the whole thing." You are welcome to report news even if you didn't personally see it, even if you only just heard about it from someone. We will investigate regardless.
Detail whether or not people were arrested, investigations promised, people hurt, property damaged, etc. For example: "They covered everything up and scared everyone away. The kid was dead for sure. The police department promised an investigation. The poor kid's mother was on television (Channel 99) asking for witnesses to come forward."
Here we are looking for your impression -- your take, for example: "I think that cop gunned that kid down because he was wearing a yellow shirt. There is too much of this these days. It makes me afraid of the police. They will sweep it under the rug, as usual - no doubt."
Let us know where we can find more information about this event. It could be on local radio, social media, or other sources. For example, "Channel 99 TV reported it (link). The police put up a press release (link). Some guy put it on YouTube (link)."
